Simon Cowell kicked out of TV Network Offices! #keepgoing

American Idol, by far one of the most successful TV shows in US history, was originally REJECTED by the US networks. In 2001, the relatively unknown Simon Cowell, flew to LA to meet with US TV executives and was literally thrown out of the building!!! The experience was “horrific” Cowell said.

I did go back to England with my tail between my legs to be honest with you, but every single negative can lead to a positive. ANY negative situation, don’t get too down by it, we’ll work it out!

Impossible? #keepgoing

Have you ever had a moment in your life when you were so excited about something, to dream about it, envision it, to attempt to make it real and someone around you told you it was impossible or it would never happen?  Do yourself a favor, don’t listen to them.

People can’t do something themselves, they wanna tell you, YOU can’t do it. You want something? Go get it. Period.” (from the Pursuit of Happyness)

Don’t Quit! #keepgoing

I first saw this poem about 15 years ago. It’s funny how some words never lose their meaning…

DON’T QUIT (#keepgoing)

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is odd with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow
.

Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not qu
it.

#keepgoing Foursquare: Persistence pays off!

Here’s a really great story.  I love stories like this.  A good friend of mine sent this over to me today and I just had to share it with you all.  He actually thought it would be a perfect story for this site and I couldn’t have agreed more.

How many of us have considered emailing or calling someone regarding an opportunity we truly desired and never actually got around to contacting them simply because we felt we would never get a response?

And how many of us have actually gone through with contacting those people but then gave up because we didn’t hear back after the first or second attempt?

In this post, Tristan Walker shows us why not the third time, but the eighth time may in fact be the charm.  We will never hit the pitches we don’t swing for.  If you want it, figure out a way, and go after it.

Michael Jordan #keepgoing: Why He Succeeds?

I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career.
I’ve lost almost 300 games.
26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.
I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life.
And that is why I succeed.

J.K. Rowling’s #keepgoing story: The Benefits of Failure!

As today marks the launch of the last episode in the Harry Potter series, we thought it only appropriate to remind you how it began.

Joanne Rowling, better known as J.K. Rowling, is currently one of the wealthiest and most successful authors in the world, but this came only after she took the proverbial leap of faith and followed her true passion in life.

By the age of 30, J.K. describes herself as being the biggest failure she knew. Divorced, unemployed, penniless, struggling as a single mother, and her own mother ailing, her life had hit rock bottom. But by following her heart and deciding to do what she LOVED to do, she realized that “Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.

Take a few minutes to watch J.K.’s witty and inspiring commencement speech to Harvard graduates, where she discusses the benefits of failure!

The #keepgoing story behind The Book of AWESOME!

If you’ve never heard of Neil Pasricha, he’s AWESOME! (pun intended) We stumbled upon his TED talk a few months ago and it really inspired us. A native of Toronto, Canada, Neil created the blog 1000 Awesome Things after a pretty tumultuous time in his life.

He originally created the blog for his own sanity, to help him #keepgoing and remind himself of all the AWESOME things in life, but his blog quickly caught on, winning him a Webby Award for Best Blog, which turned into a book deal, speaking engagements, TED Talks, and his most recent commercial for Maxwell House Coffee.

Check out his TED Talk in Toronto last fall. “The Awesome Story and The 3 A’s of Awesome”

Welcome to #keepgoing

Welcome to #keepgoing!

There are times in all of our lives when we feel like giving up. Some days it’s hard to stay positive, continue on the pursuit of happiness and push forward in following our dreams.

This blog was created to offer the world nothing but inspiration to do one simple thing: #keepgoing.

We thought this video clip featuring Nick Vujicic was one of the best ways start. We hope this and all our future posts will remind you that its doesn’t matter how many times you fall. It only matters how many times you get up!

Become a part of the movement simply by adding the #keepgoing hashtag to your tweets.
